My Wife Has Just Started Her Driving Instructor Training Course

I am not sure if it’s a mid life crisis, or if she is just trying to get away from me, but my wife has decided to start a new career. This week she started her driving instructor training at a local driving school.  She has worked in the bookstore with me for over 15 years, but she has decided she needs a change from working here. She has long been interested in working as a driving instructor as she loves cars and has to be her own boss; she couldn’t stand working for someone else. Obviously she is a bit nervous as there is a lot to learn, and it’s more difficult to take things in as you get older, but I am confident she will do just fine.

Funnily enough, she started researching how to become a driving instructor after watching a TV show about driving instructors on cable a few months ago. She is really attracted to the idea of being out and about all day, and working with lots of different people. The book store can get quiet at times, so I think she really misses interacting with lots of individuals. I always got on with my driving instructor when I was learning to drive, so I am sure she will meet some good friends by doing this job – also the money is good too! To be honest, I think it will be good for both of us to spend less time together, as we were starting to get under each other’s feet a bit.

The driving instructor training course lasts for 12 months and is costing us just over four thousand dollars, but she should be on track to profit by up to fifty thousand per year, so the cost of the training is relatively small. We will be able to afford so much more with this extra wage coming in.

I will post updates here on how she is getting on with the driving instructor training process, and once she is qualified I will post up a photo of her certificate.
